At Peacock Turfscape, our success is driven by the dedication and hard work of our team members. Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to Jason, our General Manager, who is an integral part of the team.

As the General Manager, Jason oversees the depot and provides support to our employees in their various roles. Whether he's manning the trade counter, working in the yard, or assisting with out-of-hours deliveries, Jason is always ready to roll up his sleeves and get involved wherever needed. This often results in him putting his own workload on the back burner to meet the demands of the business.

Jason has been with the Peacock Group for six years, transferring from Peacock Salt to Peacock Turfscape two years ago. He was drawn to this position by the dynamic and forward-moving nature of Peacock Salt; the exciting opportunities that came with the Turfscape acquisition were simply too good to pass up. (The fact that the office is 25 miles closer to home helped the decision to move too!)

With over 30 years in the transport industry, Jason's career began as a mechanic. He then transitioned to driving and eventually moved into transport management. His experience in these roles has equipped him with a wealth of knowledge and transferable skills that he brings to Peacock Turfscape every day.

He finds great satisfaction in working for a company that recognises and appreciates the efforts of its employees. He is working hard to foster the same Peacock Salt culture at the Turfscape depot and is proud of the team we have working here.

When asked what motivates him in his work, Jason’s response was customer focussed - rising to challenges and successfully meeting demands. He finds it particularly rewarding when the team can accommodate the unique and sometimes unusual requests from customers and particularly enjoys the satisfaction of ‘getting it right’.

Although Jason is mostly found with a serious head on, he does enjoy the lighter side of life. In fact, one of Jason's most memorable moments was a less-than-graceful fall outside in the display area, in front of half the team and some landscape contractors, while preparing for an Open Day! He acknowledges that it’s moments like these that bring a sense of humour and camaraderie to the workplace.

Outside of work, Jason loves spending time with his family, notably his partner and his 13-year-old son. A football enthusiast, he also has a penchant for spreadsheets – so much so that the team jokes he has a spreadsheet for his spreadsheets! It’s not all computer screens and mouse clicks though, as he enjoys winding down in the evenings with a good book or movie.

What’s next for Jason? He has several CPD courses in the pipeline to develop his role over the next year. One of which is an HR module, with the goal of leading his team in personal development to leverage the many opportunities available within the company.

We're incredibly lucky to have Jason leading our team at Peacock Turfscape, and we look forward to the next few years with him at the helm of our ship.
